Way overdue!!

Wow... can't believe I missed the whole month of October on this blog. It was just a crazy, crazy month with too many things on the calendar. I managed to fit a 10 day vacation in there, most of it in the Beast.... but no internet access during the trip. Which meant that no blog reports were added. And when I did have time to write while at home, I had no creative energy to get to it. As a result what few loyal readers I may have were sadly neglected. Sorry!

But still... a whole month missed? It's November already? Can't be - the sun is shining, it's fairly warm for this time of year, there are still leaves on trees..... can't be November. But one flip of the switch on the radio and I'm reminded that, yes, time is passing even quicker than I thought. Today, November 1, one of the radio stations I regularly listen to has already started their damn non-stop Christmas music. 24 hours a day from now until December 26 it's all Christmas music, all the time. That is just pathetic!!! In other words, it sucks big time. I can barely stand to listen to non-stop Christmas music the weekend before Christmas. Two months would be beyond the most cruel torture I could endure.

Now, I love living in Milwaukee. There is so much to offer here. However, a good selection of radio stations is NOT one of those things. We are sadly, sadly lacking for good radio in this otherwise wonderful city. I have 12 pre-sets available to me on my car radio. I managed to find 6 stations to use half of those available buttons. One of them is only for evening listening when WUWM has their World Cafe - during the day it's all talk and I just can't stomach talk radio of any kind. One button is a country station for when I'm desperately seeking some variety in my listening. This means there are 4 buttons that get the most use - classic rock, 80's rock, and 2 general pop music. For the next 2 months (as is the case every year) my options are down to 3. I will NOT be touching the button for WMYX until at least January. Every year I say I'm never going to listen to them ever again out of protest for this vile attack on my sanity, but by mid-January I usually give in and begin listening again.

So WHY WHY WHY do they subject us to this incredible rush of the season? Every year they get earlier - next year I bet they begin before Halloween. Is there any way we can stop this madness? ANY WAY AT ALL?
