How wild is this??

So I'm watching Letterman tonight, and they're playing "Stump the Band." It's fun to watch these normal, everyday people making fools of themselves singing goofy songs that no one has heard of before. They come to the last person chosen from the audience and Dave says "Sue Wiesman, where are you?"

I'm thinking, hey there's a Sue Wiesman in Edgar - couldn't possibly be her though. He walks over, she stands up, and I'm thinking "Holy S***! It IS Sue Wiesman from Edgar! Yep, sure enough. I actually know her - this woman about to make a fool of herself on Letterman. This is wild!

So what's she doing in NY, Dave asks? She's on a trip with her girlfriends - 46 of them. Geez, that's half the town. So she and Dave start chatting about Edgar and Wisconsin and the Dells, etc. What's her song to stump the band? "We are the Edgar girls." Oh puh-leeze. How much more hick town can we be? The band came up with a much better one than hers though. They sang a version of "We are Family" that should now be adopted as the town song, I think. But what the heck.... Edgar sure got a lot of notoriety for a dinky little town in North Central Wisconsin.

Talk about a surreal moment....
