'S All Good!
Ahhhh..... spent my first night of the year in the Beast and am now relaxing at the campground before final cleaning and getting ready to head back home. I just did a quick overnight so I could open up and air things out (like the mildew-y awnings) and vacuum up the dead bugs, etc. I also wanted to make sure that I could remember how to get things set up before attempting it with an RV full of adolescent critics.
I did ok. This place presented a big challenge for leveling though. No matter how much I rearranged the Beast in the site, I was going to have the challenge of leveling it by 3-5 inches both ways. I don't have that many leveling boards! So I ended up gettting it level side-to-side, but I'm slanted a bit downward from back-to-front. Oh well. It's only 1 night.
I also forgot that there are strange noises I need to adjust to at night in the dark. Every sound made me paranoid - mostly about whether my water hose was spouting water or not. I swear I heard it spraying all night, but this morning I see no water spouts or puddles. But once I finally drifted off, I slept very well.
So now I can take her back to Public Storage until next weekend when the Beast will carry our young from church to parts they still don't know (It's a Mystery Trip.) I think I can confidently take them on the journey now, knowing that the Beast is ready.
But for this morning I'm still relaxing and remembering many mornings like this a year ago at this time. All that's missing is Max on my lap and Moses in the driver's seat. But it's all good....
